Personal Information

Jan Krocker of Houston is judge of the 184th District Court of the Harris County. She serves on the grievance committee of the State Bar of Texas and on the legislative committee of Harris County Board of District Court Judges. She is also a member of the Law and the Media Committee of the Houston Bar Association. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the College of the State Bar and the Garland Walker Inns of Court. Krocker helped establish a pilot project placing mental health specialist in courtrooms to identify defendants with mental illness and recommend appropriate treatment. She previously served on the Harris County Judicial Task Force on Mental Illness. Krocker received a bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
