Personal Information

Penny Rychetsky was named director of Internal Audit for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services in April 2004. She is responsible for ensuring the Internal Audit Division conducts independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve operations, and assisting the agency in accomplishing objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Before joining DADS, Rychetsky held several leadership positions in the Texas Department of Human Services (DHS) including director of Internal Audit (January 2003 to August 2004), as well as acting director and deputy director of Internal Audit. She joined DHS in 1994 as an auditor.

Rychetsky also has experience in the auditing departments of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and the Texas Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) as recognized by the Institute of Internal Auditors. She also has a proven knowledge of agency programs and internal auditing procedures.

Rychetsky is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in economics.
