Newton is a partner with Baker and McKenzie, L.L.P. practicing in public and private securities offerings and merger and acquisition transactions. He serves as hiring partner of the Houston office. He is a member of the Federalist Society, State Bar of Texas and Houston Bar Association. Newton received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Reappointed 4/20/2010
