Personal Information

Dora Alcala of Del Rio is former mayor of Del Rio, and a past civilian employee for the Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force human resources management department. She previously served on the Texas Military Preparedness Commission and Texas State University System Board of Regents. She is past chair of the Texas Border Infrastructure Coalition where she also chaired the Transportation Committee. She is also a member of the Del Rio Child Welfare and United Way boards, and the Pan American Round Table and International Good Neighbor Council. Alcala received a bachelor’s degree from Sul Ross State University and a master’s degree in management from Webster University.
