Judge Rodney W. Satterwhite of the 441st Judicial District Court will not seek re-election after his term expires in December 2018. Satterwhite, who has served as a district judge for eight years, said the position has been rewarding.
“I’ve always liked trying lawsuits, and I didn’t get out of that when I got on the bench,” Satterwhite said. “I’m still trying lawsuits. I’m just on the other side of the bench, and I’m very glad that I get to participate….”
Former Gov. Rick Perry appointed Satterwhite to the role in 2009 after Texas legislators created the 441st District Court. He later ran unopposed in 2010 and 2014.
