Personal Information

Nizam Peerwani of Fort Worth is chief medical examiner for Tarrant, Denton, Johnson and Parker counties. He is a member of the National Association of Medical Examiners, Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Medical Society, Physicians for Human Rights Advisory Board, Amnesty International and International Forensic Program Advisory Council. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, College of American Pathologists and American Society for Clinical Pathologists. He is also a forensic advisor for the Texas State Fire Marshall's Office, a past member of the Journal of Forensic Science and Legal Medicine Editorial Board, and a past board member and trustee of the Al-Hedayah Academy Board of Directors. Peerwani received a bachelor's degree from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and a medical degree from the AUB School of Medicine, and completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
