Personal Information

Lawrence ‘Larry' Gist of Beaumont is senior criminal district judge in the Jefferson County Drug Impact Court, and a certified specialist in Criminal Law by the State Bar of Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is chair of the Judicial Advisory Council, past chair of the State Bar of Texas Criminal Justice Section, and a member of the American Probation and Parole Association, Texas Probation Association and Texas Corrections Association. He is also a board member of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association Foundation, past president of the Beaumont Senior Citizens Association and an executive committee member of the Three Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Gist received a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Texas.
