Albert L. Black of Austin is executive director of Child Inc. He is a board member of the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau, Austin Urban League, Early Childhood Education Council, and Austin Sports Commission, and a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals and National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners. He is president of the St. John District Baptist Association and Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, and a past member of the Austin Area Alliance of Black School Educators and National Parents Day Coalition. He is also a past member of the I Care Now Foundation Inc., Meals on Wheels and More of Austin, St. James Episcopal School Board of Trustees, and Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Black received a bachelor's degree from Paul Quinn College and a master's degree in elementary education and administration from Prairie View A&M University, and is pursuing a doctorate degree in education from the University of Texas
