Stephen Griffith of Sugar Land is the Sugar Land Chief of Police. Previously, he served as the executive director for the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center at Texas State University and chief of police for the city of San Marcos and chief of police for the City of West University. Griffith is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Texas Police Association and the Texas Police Chief Association. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, a master’s degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University and is a graduate of the FBI Academy.
