Terry Roberts has been the City Manager of Brenham since February, 2001. Prior to coming to Brenham, he served 10 years as the City Manager of El Campo beginning in 1991. Terry began his career in city government in 1975 as a staff assistant in the City Manager's office in San Marcos. Other City Manager assignments have included Diboll, Yoakum, and Seguin.

Terry is a 1974 graduate of Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) in San Marcos. He is an active member of the International City Management Association and Texas City Management Association. In 2006, he served as president of Region 7 of the Texas City Management Association (TCMA) and currently serves on the TCMA Board of Directors.

Terry is past president of the Brenham Rotary Club, a former board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, and is a member of Brenham First Baptist Church. He also serves as President of the Brenham Community Development Corporation (BCDC), the sales tax board of the City involved with community and economic development projects and he works closely with the Economic Development Foundation as a representative from the City along with Mayor Milton Tate.

Terry and his wife Vicki have two sons...Michael is a public administration graduate from Texas State University and works for the State of Texas; and Jason is a senior at Brenham High School.

Terry chose a career in city management and local public service because he believes it provides a real opportunity to make a difference in the lives of citizens in the community.
