Steve Reid was elected Mayor of Greenville in May 2012.
Born in Camp Le Jeune, North Carolina, Reid is a graduate of Aledo High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. He is a graduate of the LSU Graduate School of Banking and the Texas Bankers Association Compliance School.
Currently serving as Regional President of American National Bank of Texas, Reid has over 20 years of experience in the investment and banking industry. His banking career includes positions as Vice President, Head of Residential Mortgage Lending, and Financial Center Manager with First Financial Bank, Cleburne, Texas; Chairman, President, and CEO of The Bank, Whitney, Texas; Senior Vice President with Investment Centers of America, Inc.; Investment Officer with Texas Bank, Weatherford, Texas; and Investment Representative with Weatherford National Bank. Prior to entering the banking and investment field, Reid was a college football coach in North Carolina, owned a real estate office in Weatherford, Texas and founded a land development company in Aledo, Texas.
Reid is active in the community having served on the Greenville Board of Development/EDC and the Greenville Airport Advisory Board. He was President of the Aledo ISD Board of Trustees, Past Director of Weatherford, Whitney, and Burleson Chambers of Commerce, Past Chairman of the Wylie Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Weatherford Noon Lions Club, and Past Chairman of the Parker County Republican Party.
Reid and his wife Jan have three children, Jake, Shae, and Sam. They are members of Bull Creek Cowboy Church. An instrument rated pilot, he enjoys golf and hunting in his spare time.
