Christopher S. Adams Jr. of Granbury is a retired U.S. Air Force major general and former chief of staff of Strategic Air Command and former associate director of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Adams is a distinguished alumnus of Tarleton State University and Texas A&M University – Commerce. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and is a published author of several fiction and non-fiction books. Adams is a graduate of Tarleton State University, Texas A&M University – Commerce and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He is a Vietnam veteran with more than 8,000 flying hours and has been awarded the United States Distinguished Service Medal, the Department of Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (Oak Leaf Cluster), the Air Medal (Two Oak Leaf Clusters) and the Vietnam Service Medal (Three Battle Stars). Reappointed 4-17-2011.
