Blackwood is an attorney and partner at Thomas and Blackwood LLP. She is a member of the American and Dallas Bar associations, and an advisory board member of the STAR Neighborhood Association. She is also a past member of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Foundation President's Advocacy Council, Dallas White Rock Marathon Board of Trustees and Dallas City Bank Advisory Board. Blackwood received a bachelor's degree and law degree from Baylor University. She will continue to serve as chair of the board at the pleasure of the governor. Reappointed 3/1/2013.
