Personal Information

Steve McKeithen was born on March 17, 1952, in Harris County, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 1976 from the University of Houston. In 1984, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degreee from South Texas College of Law. In 1989, he left private practice and joined the Montgomery County Attorney's Office as a prosecutor. In 1992, he was appointed the Civil Division Chief of that office. He was elected to the position of Chief Justice in 2002.
