Personal Information

Caram is a retired educator and former assistant to the president of the University of Houston. She is a member of the Houston Hispanic Forum and is an emeritus member of the Miller Theatre Advisory Council. She is a board member of the University of St. Thomas and vice president of education for the Houston Grand Opera. Caram serves as an advisory member of Hispanic Women in Leadership. She is a member of the Institute of Hispanic Culture, the Mexican Cultural Institute of Greater Houston, the Houston Symphony and the Alley Theatre. She also is a member of the Holocaust Museum of Houston and the Museum of Natural Science of Houston.

Caram received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Rice University. She also received a doctoral degree from the University of Houston.
