Personal Information

Mickey Long currently serves on the Texas Tech University Board of Regents, to which he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry in 2009. Long is President of Westex/WLP Well Service, L.P., a well servicing company based in Midland. He is a member of the Association of Energy Service Companies and the Texas Tech University Hall of Legacy. Before being named a member of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents, Mickey was an active member of the Texas Tech University Foundation, Angelo State University Alumni Foundation, and the Red Raider Club National Board of Directors. Long received a Bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in 1976.
