Personal Information

Akins is a limited partner with Eagle Eye Ranch LP and a lawyer with Akins and Associates. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and Texas Wildlife Association, and a past member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He is past men’s and women’s head golf coach at Huston-Tillotson University, and a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and Ben Hur Shriners. He is also past chair of the Lower Colorado River Authority Lake Marble Falls Advisory Panel, and a Boys and Girls Club director. Akins is a past All-American Quarterback, Kern Tips Award winner, and Southwest Conference MVP. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from the University of Houston.
