Personal Information

Steve is the Chair of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. He was appointed to the Board in 2009 and has been Chair since July 2018. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas since 1998 and Nationally Board certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors since 2000. He is the owner and Clinical Director of ProAct Counseling with offices in Pasadena and Mont Belvieu. He spent 30 years as an educator for Pasadena ISD where he taught high school math and was a school counselor. He began private practice in 1999. He has served as an adjunct professor teaching graduate ethics at the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He serves in a leadership position in his church, is an avid Harley motorcycle enthusiast and is an officer in a national motorcycle ministry. He has been married for 31 years and has 4 adult children.
