Personal Information

Carl Sherman was first elected in 2006. He is the Council liaison to the Best Southwest Chamber of Commerce, the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition Board and the TEX-21 Subsidiary of River of Trade, Agile Port, and Trans-Texas Corridor.

Mr. Sherman is the Immediate Past Chair of the Best Southwest Chamber of Commerce Board and has also served as the 2006 Chairman of the Board of the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce, 2002 Chairman of the Business and Government Affairs Committee for the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce, and served on the 2001 City of DeSoto Charter Review Commission.

Councilmember Sherman's community activities include serving as bishop at the Mountain View Church of Christ, past President of the DeSoto Rotary Club and SPAC Chairman of the 2003 General Obligation Bond Election.

Mr. Sherman and his wife Michelle have lived in DeSoto for 13 years and have five children and one grandchild.
