Personal Information

Gloria Y. Moon was elected to the City Commission, May 10, 2008. Ms. Gloria Y. Moon is a native Marshall, Texan representing District 1, where the late Katie Jones, expired doing her term in office. Ms.Gloria Y. Moon is a graduate of H. B. Pemberton and Wiley College. She has accomplished a B. S. Degree and many other feats of higher learning at East Baptist University, East Texas University and Prarie View A and M University. Carlos W. Moon, Sr., was Gloria Y. Moon husband of many years, he is now decesaed. Doing her marriage to Carlos W. Moon, Sr. she bore three children, Sharon, Clarice, and Carlos Jr. All of her children live outside the Marshall, Texas area. Gloria Y. Moon worked in the Marshall Public School System for 33 years. She has since retired as of May 2002. However, from time to time Ms. Moon still brings her expertise to the Marshall Public School System as a substitute teacher. Ms. Gloria Y. Moon practice her faith in God at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where she is also a member.
