Personal Information

Ron Davis started with the Addison staff in 1990 and serves as Director of the Police Department. Ron became Chief of Police in 2006. He was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2000 after serving as Police Captain for 10 years.

Ron began his public service career with the Dallas Police Department in 1978. Ron worked in: Patrol, Traffic, Support Services, Special Operations, Planning and Research and the Office of the Police Chief. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1983 and Lieutenant in 1987.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Business from Amber University. Ron has a Master's in Police Administration from the University of North Texas and has completed post graduate studies with the University Texas at Arlington.

Ron has completed advanced management programs with the Federal Bureau of Investigation - National Police Academy; U.S. Fire Administration - Executive Fire Officer Program; and Southwest Legal Foundation - Command Management Collage.

His memberships include: Texas Police Chiefs Association; North Texas Police Chiefs Association; Texas Police Association; and F.B.I. National Academy Associates.

Ron has been married for over 25 years to Lynn, a retired public school principal. Ron and Lynn met while attending Texas Tech University. They have two adult children, both of whom graduated from Texas Tech. Ron's hobbies include hunting, astronomy and following college sports.
