Personal Information

A member of the Port Commission since 1993, James F. “Jimmy” Brown Jr., is president and chief executive officer of Texas Gulf Bank, NA. He joined Texas Gulf Bancshares, Inc. in 1981 as a loan officer, following two years with First National Bank of Lake Jackson. A 1976 graduate of Brazoswood High School, Brown holds degrees from Brazosport College and Sam Houston State University.

Brown is a native of Freeport and currently lives in Lake Jackson, having served from 1986 to 1993 as a member of the Lake Jackson City Council. He serves as a director of the Texas Bankers Association and the 100 Club of Brazoria County and is an advisory director for the Salvation Army of Brazoria County. His interests include boating, fishing and automobile racing.
