Personal Information

Melanie Thompson of Seguin, a certified public accountant with 24 years of experience in public accounting and an assistant professor at Texas Lutheran University, has been designated chair of the board to serve for a term at the pleasure of the governor. She currently serves on the board for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2007. Thompson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the San Antonio Chapter of the TSCPA and the American Accounting Association. She received a bachelor’s degree from Corpus Christi State University, now Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
