Personal Information

Maria T. Molett is the Executive Director of the Counseling Institute of Texas. She has a Masters in Clinical and Community Psychology from Chapman University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Registered Sex Offender Treatment Provider. In addition to her clinical skills she is also a supervisor of University interns and professionals. Ms. Molett has been involved in the assessment and treatment of sex offenders for over 16 years. She has developed sex offender treatment programs based on systems theory and utilizing a team approach for both adolescents and adults. She consults with professional organizations and provides education and training for professionals and court testimony in sex offender cases. She is currently involved in research projects on the sex history polygraph, the penile plethysmograph, and on female sex offender's sexual arousal. She was appointed to the Council on Sex Offender Treatment by Governor Bush in 1998. She currently serves on the Multidisciplinary Team reviewing cases for civil commitment.
