Personal Information

Gary Swindle is chief of police for the City of Tyler. He is first vice president of the FBI National Academy Associates of Texas and president of Tyler Sister Cities, Inc. He serves on the board of the Children’s Advocacy Center, University of Texas at Tyler Alumni Association and the Tyler Junior College Criminal Justice Advisory Board. Swindle is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Texas Association of Police and Smith County Peace Officers Association. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.
