Personal Information

Hanks of Houston is the judge of the 157th District Court, where he has served since January 2001. He is a member of the American Judges Association, National Bar Association, College of the State Bar of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Federal Bar Association. Hanks is also a member of the Houston Bar Association, Houston Young Lawyers Association and is a fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation. He is a former law clerk for federal District Judge Sim Lake. Hanks received a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
