Sharon J. Barnes of Lake Jackson is a human resources manager at Dow Chemical Company. She is the national secretary of the National Organization of Black Chemists, the vice president of policy for the Brazosport Fine Arts Council and the vice president of publicity for Brazosport Center Stages. Barnes serves on the board of the Memorial Child Care Center and is a member of the district review committee of the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. She received a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University. Reappointed 7/3/2008.
