Bachelor’s degree-Stephen F. Austin State University; law degree-South Texas College of Law.

Fields is an attorney and real estate broker in private practice. He has also served the last 15 years as a municipal court judge for the City of Tatum. Fields is a past board member of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce, and member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Municipal Court Association and College of the State Bar of Texas. Additionally, he is a member of the Texas Apartment Association, Texas Association of Realtors and Carthage Lions Club.
