Personal Information

Nelson is a partner with Nelson and Nelson Attorneys. He is former chairman of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and served two terms on the Lubbock City Council. He is a Texas Bar Foundation fellow, and a member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel and State Bar of Texas. Nelson is also a member and past officer of the Lubbock County Bar Association, and a trained mediator. He is a past recipient of the United Way 2007 Lubbock Campaign Volunteer of the Year award and the Lubbock Outstanding Young Lawyer award. Nelson received a bachelor’s and law degree from Texas Tech University.
