“Chief Standridge informed me earlier this week of his intentions to leave employment with the City of Abilene on or before the end of 2020 in order to further pursue a relationship with a City employee who also works in the Abilene Police Department. Chief Standridge has served our community honorably throughout his 25-year career. He is widely known as a man of integrity, and his decision to resign only further illustrates his commitment and integrity to this community and the Abilene Police Department,” said Hanna.

Chief Standridge will remain in service to the City of Abilene as Police Chief through the end of the year, or until other employment is found to ensure the best possible transition in leadership for the department and Abilene community.
