Benavides most recently served as chief prosecutor in the 49th Judicial District Court for the district attorney’s office in Webb County. Prior to that, he was a civil litigation and personal injury attorney and worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the civil division and with the city attorney’s office in San Antonio.
