Domingo Montalvo, Jr. graduated from Wharton High School in 1979 and attended two years at Wharton County Junior College before graduting from the Houston Fire Academy in 1984. He then pursued a career as a firefighter and is a sixteen year veteran of the Houston Fire Department with seven years in the Special Operations Division. Mr. Montalvo belongs to several organizations and has special interests, which include the Houston Professional Firefighter Association Local 341, City of Wharton Fire Departmen Assistant Chief, Wharton Emergency Medical Services, Wharton Lions Club, Wharton Knights of Columbus, Executive Board of the Coastal Conservation, Wharton County Junior College Advisory Board for Fire Degree Program, Chairman of the Colorado River Floodplain Steering Committee, Wharton Little League Manager and Board Member, Past Girl Softball Coach, Independance Day Celebration Founder and Fiesta Hispano Americano Lifetime Member. Mr. Montalvo is the first hispanic to be elected as a City of Wharton Councilmember At-Large.
