Personal Information

Councilman Thomas Cones was born in Houston and grew up in the Heights area. He moved to the League City area and graduated from Clear Creek High School. Mr. Cones resides in League City with his wife, Jerie.

Councilman Cones graduated from Houston Community College with a degree in Fire Science and Safety Technology. He is currently attending West Texas A&M University, majoring in Emergency Management Administration.

Mr. Cones is employed by the Houston Fire Department as an 18-year veteran firefighter. He is also employed by the City of Nassau Bay as Public Safety Specialist to the City Manager and has the following certifications: Master Peace Officer, Firefighter, Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, Arson Investigator, Fire Inspector, Hazardous Material Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician.
Councilman Cones was selected by the Houston Fire Department to be a team member of an elite group of individuals that responds to terrorist threats and attacks on our nation. As a member of the “Terrorism Strike Team,” he trains against the possible attack from weapons of mass destruction.
Mr. Cones has been very active in our community for over 20 years, as a League City Volunteer Firefighter, Co-Chairman of the Holiday in the Park Festival, Zoning Board Member, and member of the League City Historical Society. He is an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #9310.
Councilman Cones' goal is to improve the quality of life for citizens of League City by solving issues such as traffic congestion, economic development issues, infrastructure problems, and taxes.
